Belogradchik Rocks Uncovered: Views, Trails, and Stunning Landscapes

The Belogradchik Rocks are a place where nature seems to have poured out its beauty in abundance. In recent years, the place has become known beyond the borders of Bulgaria. In 2009, the cliffs were among the 77 finalists in a competition to choose the new 7 natural wonders of the world. The list of candidates for the prize numbered 260 natural sites from around the world, with over 6.5 million people voting for the Belogradchik Rocks. Recently, even Elon Musk has heard about the beauty and grandeur of the cliffs and there were even rumors that he had decided to come. We’re still waiting for him, but you never know 🙂 .

Venetsa Cave is one of the beautiful gems of Northwestern Bulgaria. Its name comes from the Bulgarian word for “wreath” or “crown,” and it truly deserves it – often described as the crown jewel among the region’s caves because of its impressive rock formations.

The Fascinating Silistar Beach

Silistar Beach is one of my favorite beaches on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. Without any buildings and picturesque, it is not only a beach, but also a very beautiful place. The bay has blue and clear waters, very pleasant for swimming. I was truly enchanted when I first visited it more than 20 years ago – it somehow reminded me of the sea from my childhood. Then, and in the following few years, not many people were sunbathing there, it was not occupied with concession umbrellas, there were not even lifeguards.

The Charming Veleka Beach, Sinemorets

Veleka Beach is among the most picturesque beaches on the Bulgarian Southern Black Sea Coast. It is located in the northern part of the village of Sinemorets at the confluence of the Veleka River into the Black Sea. The beach is huge and there is enough space for everyone. The landscape is beautiful – completely natural and without concrete. However, the bay is quite deep. You enter the sea, take two steps and you no longer step on the bottom.

Lipite beach near Sinemorets

Lipite Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, still almost untouched. The reason is that there’s no road access by car. It lies in a picturesque bay with crystal-clear waters, not far from Butamyata Beach in Sinemorets. The sand is fine, and at the back, the beach meets the dense forests of Strandzha.
