Staro Stefanovo is a small village in the central part of Bulgaria. It was registered as an architectural reserve in 1983, because it kept the same feel as it did over 200 years ago during the Bulgarian Renaissance period. With every step along the old streets, you can almost hear the whispers of the past and feel the spirits of those who walked these streets long, long before us. Because of this old-fashioned atmosphere, the village became a natural decor of several Bulgarian movies.

A lot of people have asked me what is to be a travel blogger in Bulgaria or just blogger and what motivates me to do it. This is why I decided to share my thoughts, feelings and impressions as a travel blogger.

Aquae Calidae, also known as Therma or Thermopolis, is a new tourist site in Bulgaria. It is quite close to Burgas. During the Roman times the place functioned as a bath. Before that, it was used by the Thracians as a sanctuary. Later on Aquae Calidae was rebuilt several times over the centuries. It has been utilized nowadays until a decade ago. Currently it is a museum.

The island of Saint Anastasia in the Burgas Bay is not only an interesting place to visit and an awesome day trip from Burgas, but it is also a real sea adventure. It is reached by boat, which docks on the island next to a pompous little shell beach. In addition to the wonderful sea views, on the island you will see several sights and eat delicious food in the local bistro.

Arbanassi is a charming little village near Veliko Tarnovo. You can marvel there at the seven beautifully preserved medieval churches that stand as a testament to the rich history of this hidden gem. At the end of last July we spent three wonderful days in the heart of Strandzha Mountains in the area of Malko Tarnovo. This was our second visit to the region. We were there 7 years ago. At that time, our goal was to visit the most important sights within the town and to try to feel a bit of its atmosphere. We liked the area and not only that – we were truly amazed. We understood that there were plenty of interesting places to see and what we had already seen was a very small part of everything.

Dear blog readers, this article is dedicated to the incredibly beautiful places to visit in Bulgaria! I have seen thousands of Bulgarian sites and, believe me, it was quite difficult to select a very few of them. In my humble opinion, each of those places would serve as a business card of Bulgaria, of its rich culture, ancient history and beautiful nature.

The monastery of St. Athanasius is one of the many places I have come across to. We were traveling on the Maritsa highway to the village of Mezek and we saw a road sign to the monastery. The plaque was new, the turn-off too, so I thought maybe it was a new tourist site.We passed the sign and forgot about this monastery. A few days later, when we came back to Sofia, the plaque reminded us for the monastery again. I pulled out the phone, asked Google for more information, and realized the importance of the place. Unfortunately, it was too late that day, but I promised I would be back soon.
10 months later we visited this holy place. Now, I would like to tell you about it.

Bulgaria is a country rich not only in history and cultural traditions, but also in natural beauties. Among all of them, there is one kind of native attractions that I like a lot – waterfalls. Each one of them is different with its own drawing, sound, way of water movement and drop. It is also proven that waterfalls have a beneficial effect on the human body.
