Silistar Beach is one of my favorite beaches on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. Without any buildings and picturesque, it is not only a beach, but also a very beautiful place. The bay has blue and clear waters, very pleasant for swimming. I was truly enchanted when I first visited it more than 20 years ago – it somehow reminded me of the sea from my childhood. Then, and in the following few years, not many people were sunbathing there, it was not occupied with concession umbrellas, there were not even lifeguards.

Nowadays, the situation is a bit different – the beach is well-known and visited by thousands of people, a large part of it is occupied by paid umbrellas and a few beach establishments. However, it is still tempting. There is also a free area left somewhere at its southern end.
Silistar Beach is part of the Silistar protected area. It is about 1000 meters long and has an average width of 70 meters. The Silistar River flows near it, which flows into the sea in its northern part with an estuary-type mouth. There are no hotels or permanent buildings on the beach, but there are a few bars for drinks and snacks, and the Silistar campsite is located nearby.

At the back of the beach, in the height of summer, beautiful sand lilies bloom. You can look at them and take pictures of them, but do not pick them – they are a protected species.
Silistar Beach is the southernmost beach with lifeguards on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. To the south of it there are several more bays with conditions for sunbathing. One of them is the Kastrich Bay near Rezovo, and the other is the small beach in the village of Rezovo itself. The remaining small bays between Silistar Beach and Rezovo are completely wild and quite difficult to access.

Where is it located and how to get tо Silistar beach
The beach is located about halfway between the villages of Sinemorets and Rezovo, 88 km from Burgas. The turnoff to the beach is about 5 km south of Sinemorets – a dirt road branches off from the main road to the left, which takes you close to the beach. There is no problem driving the dirt road by car. At the end of the road by the beach, there is plenty of space to park.
Our visits to Silistar Beach are numerous, and on many of them there were people collecting money for parking. When we were last there a year ago (2025), there was no such fee.
And more: a walking route from Silistar beach to Kastrich Bay
Kastrich is a rocky small bay south of Silistar beach and north of the village of Rezovo. The beach is rocky and only in its southern part there is a little sand where one can spread out a towel. The rocks are also suitable for sunbathing. The shallows of the bay to the shore are also rocky.

From Silistar Beach to Kastrich Bay, you can follow an unmarked trail that runs close to the shoreline. It starts from the rocks in the southern part of Silistar beach. In general, you walk in a forest, or rather, you pass through several forests, which alternate one after the other. Between them, you can find tempting views of the sea ahead and the small bays down on the coast. In the forested parts, you cross several ravines, which are usually dry in summer.

The length of the route from Silistar beach to Kastrich is about 2.5 kilometers and takes about 45 minutes. There is no marking, but the path is well visible, and the direction is clear. If you have some experience in hiking, it will not be difficult for you to find the way.
